Architectural Plan Printing in Lisburn & Belfast
Get architectural drawings printed clearly and to scale with our large-format plan printing service. We produce A0, A1 and A2 prints for architects, engineers, builders, contractors and planning consultants across Lisburn, Belfast and Northern Ireland.
Every plan is printed at 100% of the supplied PDF page size — no auto-fit distortion — on lightweight bond for site use or heavier coated stock for presentations and planning applications. Choose black & white, line colour or full colour, then rolled or folded. Urgent sets can often be produced the next working day, with collection from our Lisburn press or courier delivery across NI.

Architectural plan printing buying guide
Choosing A0, A1 or A2
Most architectural and construction drawings are issued at A1 (594 × 841 mm) — large enough to read dimensions on site without being awkward to carry. A0 (841 × 1189 mm) is the choice for site layouts, housing-development masterplans, and any sheet where fine linework or a large site boundary needs to stay legible at scale. A2 (420 × 594 mm) suits detail sheets, smaller floor plans, and presentation sets that will be handled in a meeting rather than pinned up in a site cabin. We print all three sizes as standard, and can discuss custom roll widths if your drawing is not a standard ISO sheet. Always export the PDF at the required output size; do not design at A3 and ask us to “blow it up”, as line weights and text will not scale cleanly.
Paper, colour and site-ready finishes
Standard architectural plan printing uses 80–90gsm uncoated bond — light enough to carry a full drawing set, cheap enough for multi-copy site issues, and easy to mark up with pencil or highlighter. For planning applications, client presentations, or tender packs, step up to coated stock so greys, hatches and rendered elevations hold their contrast. We print mono for technical linework, line colour when only annotations or zoning need colour, and full colour for presentation drawings. Folded sets are practical for vans, site folders and posting; rolled plans travel better for storage tubes, client handovers and hanging in the office. Weatherproof and synthetic options are available when drawings will live outdoors on a hoarding, in a site box, or on an exposed reading board.
Keeping drawings at the correct scale
Scale errors are almost always introduced at export, not at the printer. Set the PDF page size to the sheet you want (A0, A1 or A2), export at 100% with no “fit to page”, and include a drawn scale bar plus a known dimension so the print can be checked with a scale rule. Vector PDFs from CAD, Revit, Archicad or similar have no resolution limit and print the sharpest lines. If you must supply a raster file, use at least 200 DPI at the final print size. For multi-sheet sets, send one PDF in issue order with each sheet clearly numbered. Tell us how many copies of each sheet you need and we will collate and pack the sets so they arrive ready to hand out on site.
Who uses plan printing in Lisburn and Belfast
Architects and architectural technicians use the service for working drawings, construction-issue sets and planning application packs. Structural and civil engineers send schematics, drainage layouts and road schemes. Main contractors and subcontractors order site copies, as-built mark-ups and coordination drawings. Quantity surveyors, planning consultants and property developers need extra sets for pricing, procurement and client meetings. Because we print in Lisburn, Belfast practices and sites across County Antrim can collect the same day a job is finished, or have a tracked courier drop drawings at the office or the site gate. There is no minimum order — one A1 copy is as welcome as a bulk housing-scheme set.

Frequently asked questions
We print plans in the standard large formats used on Northern Ireland construction projects: A2, A1 and A0. Custom sizing and non-standard roll widths are available on request. Each print is produced at 100% of the PDF page size so linework and stated scales stay accurate.
Yes — provided the PDF is exported at the intended sheet size and not scaled-to-fit. We do not resize drawings to “fill the paper”. Include a scale bar on the sheet if you want us to verify a known dimension before the full run. Vector CAD PDFs give the sharpest, most reliable result.
Yes. Choose folded copies for site folders and posting, or rolled copies for storage tubes and presentations. For project sets, tell us the number of sheets and the number of copies; we collate and pack each set so it is ready to distribute to the design team, contractor or building control.
Yes. Mono is the economical choice for most technical line drawings. Line colour is useful when only grids, revisions or zoning need colour. Full-colour printing is available for rendered elevations, landscape plans, and presentation drawings that will be shown to a client or planning committee.
Urgent plan sets are typically produced the next working day. Collection from our Lisburn press (Units 6–8, Lisburn Enterprise Centre, BT28 2BP) is free. We also courier to Belfast and every Northern Ireland postcode. Contact us before ordering if you have a site meeting the same week and we will confirm what is possible.
A vector PDF at the correct output size is best. Embed fonts, keep line weights printable, and avoid scanning a paper drawing unless that is the only original. If the file is larger than a typical web upload, say so when you order — we can accept artwork by WeTransfer or a similar link.
