About Perfect Bound Booklets from PCR Print
A professionally bound booklet communicates weight — literally and figuratively. It gets left on a desk rather than discarded, it is kept rather than recycled, and it is shared in a way that a PDF attachment is not. PCR Print produces saddle-stitched, perfect-bound, and wire-bound booklets for Northern Ireland organisations — from a 12-page order-of-service booklet for a church in Lisburn to a 100-page perfect-bound annual report for a Belfast company.
Our booklet range covers A4 and A5 formats in all three binding types, with cover stock and inner page weights specified separately to give you complete control over the finished item. All booklets include a free artwork check before production begins.

Preparing your Perfect Bound Booklets artwork
Full artwork guide- Set up your document at A4 (210 × 297mm) or A5 (148 × 210mm) with 3mm bleed on all outer edges.
- Page count must be a multiple of 4 for saddle-stitched booklets — use intentional blank pages if needed.
- Supply a sequential multi-page PDF. Do not supply as spreads unless specifically requested.
- For perfect-bound booklets, leave at least 8mm inside margin on the spine edge to allow for the binding area.
- Covers are heavier stock — supply cover file and inner pages as separate, clearly labelled PDFs.
- Do not embed crop marks inside the page area — set them in the PDF export options to print outside the bleed.
Turnaround & delivery
Saddle-stitched booklets are typically produced in 3–5 working days from artwork approval. Perfect-bound and wire-bound booklets may take slightly longer for larger quantities. We prioritise booklets for events when given notice of a deadline.

Common questions about Perfect Bound Booklets
Saddle-stitched booklets start at 8 pages (2 folded sheets). Perfect-bound booklets need at least 36–40 pages to form a spine that the glue can hold reliably. Wire-bound booklets can start from 8 pages.
Each side of a physical sheet counts as one page. A 16-page booklet is 4 sheets folded together. Page count must always be a multiple of 4 for saddle-stitch. If your content fills 14 pages, the booklet must be 16 pages, with 2 pages left intentionally blank or used for a back cover design.
Perfect binding — the square-spine format used for paperback books — is standard for annual reports and catalogues. It looks highly professional, stands on a shelf, and can carry a title on the spine.
Yes, and we recommend it. A laminated 350gsm cover distinguishes the front from the inner pages, protects the document, and gives an immediate quality impression. Cover stock is specified separately from inner pages.
Yes — event programmes and order-of-service booklets are among our most frequent booklet orders. We can accommodate runs from 10 copies and prioritise event deadlines. Please give us at least 5 working days from artwork approval.
